John Sherrodd, MA, LHMC
I am a licensed mental health counselor committed to helping people create a fuller life. My goal is to help people achieve their unique potential -- a life of expression, meaning and purpose. For over 20 years, I have come alongside people of all ages, diverse backgrounds and places in their lives to give them hope, inspiration and empowerment. As a licensed clinical supervisor in Washington State, I provide clinical supervision to a limited number of counselors seeking licensure. In addition to my work in counseling, I am also a social entrepreneur. I have created, managed and directed programs across the nation including those for organizations such as Seattle Union Gospel Mission, Seattle Community Psychiatric Clinic and Austin LifeWorks.
I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from the Seattle School and an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Western Washington University. I have been trained as an Emotion focused couples therapist by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy and am member of the Seattle Community for Emotional Focused Therapy. I am a founding member of Family Systems Therapists Northwest as well as a member of the Seattle Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, the American Chronic Pain Association, Psychology Today, and Good Therapy.

My approach is to partner with clients to help them achieve their goals. I use an Emotion Focused Therapy approach to help couples and individuals explore the core issues in their lives and develop new ways to understand themselves and one another.
