FAQ
Q: What can I expect when I contact you?
A: I will listen to what you hope to achieve and discuss my services. If you think it could be a good fit to proceed we will schedule a first session and have you complete an intake packet to bring to that session.
Q: Can I see you in the office?
A: Yes, I have an office in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.
Q: What are your hours?
A: I see clients Monday-Thursday 11 am-7 pm.
Q: How do I connect to your online waiting room when I have an appointment?
A: Once an appointment is scheduled you will be sent a link to my online waiting room. (this may require a simple download from Zoom.com)
Q: How does online counseling work?
A: I work to create the right environment for the counselling experience and I am asking clients to do the same. My hope is that even though we are using a digital tool to do counseling, we can still create a real and meaningful connection that allows for our responses to body language as well as the words that are said.
On my side I will be in a confidential environment with a large TV as my screen and an HD camera at a distance so that you will be able to see me as if I am sitting across the office from you.
What I ask of clients to create a good online counseling experience is:
Q: Can I use insurance for couples counseling?
A: All Insurance companies only cover services that they consider "medically necessary". This means they will only pay for the treatment of an individual with a qualifying mental Health diagnosis. With this being so, they do not see couples counseling as a medically necessary service and thus I am unable to take insurance for these services. You can still receive couples counseling but you will pay the entire cost of services yourself.

What I ask of clients to create a good online counseling experience is:
- Create a confidential space where you will feel free to talk openly.
- Have a reliable internet connection.
- Have a computer that can be connected to a large screen.
- Use a the largest screen that you can connect your computer to (large TV preferred). A laptop screen does not provide the best experience for online couples counseling but if it is the only options we can discuss its effectiveness throughout the process.
- Use an HD or other high quality webcam with microphone (if your webcam doesn’t have a microphone please get a separate microphone so that you can be heard).
- Use computer speakers that are loud enough that you can hear me easily.
- Position the webcam on top of the screen and sit at a distance so that I can see all of you as if you are sitting across the office from me.
